Editorial

The present issue of the International Journal of Advance Research and Innovation sheds light on a number of temporal subjects. Foremost, Mani Bansal’s study titled ‘Quality Agenda in Higher Education: Causes for Concern’ attempts to discuss the parameters of how to improve the quality of research in higher education.

Following the aforementioned, Abhas Jain and S. K. Singh’s ‘Limnological Studies Related to Physico-Chemical Characteristics of Water in Anasagar Lake, Ajmer, Rajasthan’ deals with the seasonal limnological investigation related to the physicochemical characteristics of the water of the Anasagar Lake in Ajmer (Rajasthan).

The next study titled ‘Experimental Studies for Accessing the Influence of Micro-Dimple Area Density on Tribological Performance of Mating Contacts’ by R. C. Singh, R. K. Pandey and S. Maji has been conducted to investigate the influence of the relative motion of a plane surface with the other having micro-circular dimples throughout the contact.

The changing landscape of learning is helping India to emerge as a technology-driven knowledge-based society and economy. Thus, the study titled ‘Lifelong Learning: Helping India to Emerge as a Technology Driven Knowledge Based Society and Economy’ by Mehta Jaydip Chandrakant discusses how the success of any knowledge-based society and economy depends on promoting the acquisition of key competencies and broadening opportunities for innovative and more flexible forms of learning for every citizen of the country.

The study titled ‘Optimization of Process Parameters in Turning Operation of Aluminium (6061) with Cemented Carbide Inserts Using Taguchi Method and Anova’  by Ranganath M S, Vipin and R. S. Mishra investigates the parameters affecting the roughness of surfaces produced during the turning process for the material Aluminium 6061. On a related note, Ranganath M S and Vipin’s ‘Optimization of Process Parameters in Turning Operation Using Taguchi Method and Anova: A Review’ investigates the parameters affecting the roughness of surfaces produced in the turning process for the various materials studied by researchers.

A comprehensive Second law analysis of the Claude system is carried out by using various property variables in the system to find out the more efficient statics of the system in Devender Kumar and R. S. Mishra’s ‘Thermal analysis of a Claude system for Liquefaction of Various Gases.’

‘A study on the Wear Mechanism of Aluminium Alloys’ by Krovvidi Srinivas reviews aluminium’s tribological properties and its four major types of wear mechanisms.

In Kapil Chopra, V. Sahni and R. S Mishra’s ‘Energetic and Exergetic Based Comparison Multiple Evaporators with Compound Compression and Flash Intercooler with Individual or Multiple Throttle Valves,’ the utility of second law analysis on vapour compression refrigeration systems is well defined because it gives the idea for improvements in efficiency due to modifications in the existing design in terms of reducing exergy destructions in the components.

Another interesting paper by Krovvidi Srinivas titled ‘Abrasive Flow Finishing: A State of Art’ highlights the abrasive flow finishing process and accounts for some work on the same. Last but not least, in ‘A review of Pulse current gas tungsten arc welding for different alloys’ by P. K. Baghela, an attempt has been made to critically review the welding technique from a different perspective for different metals and alloys. Some important PTIGW processing parameters and their effect on weld quality are also discussed.

We hope this issue of the International Journal of Advance Research and Innovation is illuminating and insightful for our readers and motivates potential authors to make more unique, diverse and topical contributions to the journal.
